The Price of Sweet Fortune - Part 3: The Unraveling

Haunted by the strange disappearances, Lily tried to distance herself from the recipe book. She stopped using it for a few days, hoping the string of bad luck would end. But without the enchanted recipes, her bakery’s success began to wane. Fewer customers came in, and her profits started to drop. Panicked, Lily decided to try just one more recipe from the book—a cake called The Harvest of Joy.

This time, the results were immediate. Her bakery once again thrived, and her shelves emptied within hours. The town mayor even invited her to cater a large event, an opportunity that could elevate her bakery to new heights. But the happiness was short-lived. The day after the event, her best friend, Sarah, fell into a coma without warning. The doctors were baffled, unable to find a cause.

Devastated, Lily finally accepted the truth she had been denying: the book was cursed. Its recipes granted her success, but always at the cost of someone else’s life or well-being. Wracked with guilt, she decided to stop baking from the book altogether. But the town had come to expect her magical treats, and the pressure to keep up with the demand became overwhelming.

Determined to undo the damage, Lily searched for a way to break the curse. She scoured the book for answers, hoping for a recipe that could reverse the effects of the others. Eventually, she found a cryptic entry titled The Undoing Feast. The instructions were vague, but it seemed to suggest that by baking a final cake and sacrificing something precious, the curse could be broken.
