Wrong Feelings

I know you were not with me,

But I still felt your heat.

My heart did skip a beat,

But it could sometimes be hard

To just simply stay apart.

But for you, it was easy as I see.

But my heart is like a sea,

And you were like a sailor.

You sailed for days and months,

And I thought you were mine.

But that was wrong,

And that led to the start of this song.

Even though it’s not a song, it’s a poem

Or a dream, just like you seem.

It’s just like you? Or maybe me?

I don’t know how deep the sea is—

Is it as shallow as you,

Or as deep as the feelings we had?

Maybe I thought you were mine,

But you were never that kind.
