Nice Guy

If you were to stay in the past,
Why would you move so fast?
The universe is vast,
You don’t know how long you’re going to last,
And yet, you want to stay in the past.

Until I met you,
I didn’t know love could exist for me.
Walking into the woods with you,
Feeling the warmth of your hand in mine,
Time moving on a fine line—
Just like having a sip of fine wine.

I wanted to make you mine,
But you drew a line,
A line to separate me and you,
And you didn’t want me to cross it too.
I know it’s true,
But it hurts too.

I don’t care about it anymore,
‘Cause I left you miles away on the shore.
I want to feel better with my own life,
Which is stale but better than being pale.

I hope you find the one you choose,
And never feel the misery of losing them too.
Stay happy, AK—you’ve found a new friend,
And that’s how a nice guy’s story ends.
